Mental Health Systems Relies on Glowpoint and Plus 6 Technologies for Visual Collaboration
MURRAY HILL, N.J., Feb 1, 2011 - Glowpoint Inc. (OTCBB: GLOW), a leading global provider of cloud-based managed services for telepresence, video conferencing and collaboration, today announced that Mental Health Systems ("MHS"), a not-for-profit organization that provides innovative and cost-effective mental health and drug and alcohol recovery services, has begun using Glowpoint's managed services to host remote, live training and collaboration sessions over video as an alternative to onsite training.
MHS, a $90 million non-profit company with more than 800 employees sought out Glowpoint and Plus 6 Technologies, a leading technology integration company focused on video communications, to help them integrate video in three of their California offices as part of an effort to reduce travel costs for training, while at the same time, offer a highly visual environment for improved collaboration.
Don Blake, MHS's Information Technology Director, said, "Our development department came to the IT department with a cost analysis study that showed how much money we were spending on travel and accommodations for trainers to travel around and perform trainings. They asked if video could help. After working with Glowpoint and Plus 6, we were able to show dramatic improvements in the ability to offer consistent training throughout our statewide services. With the money we save on travel, we can invest in more services to reach more people in the communities we serve."
Video communications offers a host of improved collaboration capabilities for MHS. In addition to enabling simultaneous, multi-site, remote training capabilities, the video technology enables MHS to share company goals with their employee and client base, perform new employee orientations, and support MHS goals in providing consistent, uniform and timely trainings throughout the agency.
Glowpoint's Vice President of Marketing, Jonathan Brust, said, "I am very pleased that MHS is able to achieve their goals using our managed services. It is especially rewarding when our technology and services make a difference in people's lives, and that is precisely what MHS does."
Visual collaboration delivers real benefits to MHS: - Improved Internal Collaboration - Goals are shared by company President instantaneously throughout multiple office locations, assuring everyone is on the same page
- Travel Savings - Trainers use video instead of traveling onsite to client and customer locations
- New Employee Orientation - Enables HR to perform remotely across company offices without losing visual contact as compared to audio or packaged presentations
